JUST ANNOUNCED: The Doc Impact Hi5!
The teams from An Insignificant Man, Chasing Coral, Please Remember Me, Thank You for the Rain, Unrest all get a Hi5!
The goal of Doc Society’s Hi5 is to acknowledge and highlight the work of teams who have created significant and measurable social impact with excellent documentary films. I am so proud of these films and teams. Congratulations!
I am also awed by the truth that for every 5 films and teams honored there are literally dozens more working tirelessly behind the scenes doing immensely beautiful and powerful work. I salute each and every one of you.
These case studies aim to inspire filmmakers to realize the potential in their storytelling and illustrate to social movement allies how such stories can help move the meter on an issue. The films and campaigns herein exemplify what can be achieved on a range of budgets and by filmmakers and impact producers operating in very different contexts. These five teams honored are from India, China, the USA, Kenya and Europe.
It was a joy to dig in with these team, listen for all the creative ways they put their films to work and all the beautiful results, and write up these case studies. Have a look: docimpacthi5.org/
